Penina Roth is a freelance writer whose work has appeared in the New York Times, the New York Post, The L Magazine and other publications. She is the Founder and Curator of the Franklin Park Reading Series, recently voted by Time Out NY as one of the Best Reading Series of 2012. The series has been recommended and covered by numerous publications including The New York Times, The New Yorker, New York Magazine and many others. Julia Fierro is a Brooklyn-based novelist, essayist and editor. Her debut novel, THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT, about the complicated and often comical experience of contemporary parenting, will be published by St. Martin’s Press in the spring of 2014. Julia is a graduate of The Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where she was a Teaching-Writing Fellow. Julia is also the Founder and Director of The Sackett Street Writers’ Workshop which has graduated almost 2000 writers over the last ten years. David Gutowski is a writer who blogs at Largehearted Boy, frequently cited as one of the first online literary and music blogs. David started his popular lit and music blog Largehearted Boy over ten years ago and also runs the related reading series Largehearted Lit, a series exploring the intersections between books and music. Michele Filgate is a writer, book critic and event coordinator for Community Bookstore in Brooklyn. Previously Michele was the events coordinator at McNally Jackson. Michele’s writing has appeared in O, The Oprah Magazine, The Star Tribune, Bookslut, The Quarterly Conversation, The Brooklyn Rail, The Book Studio,Identity Theory, and many other publications. Jason Diamond is a writer and editor who lives in New York City. He's the founder of Vol. 1 Brooklyn, current New York Deputy Editor of Flavorpill, and the former editor of Jewcy.com. His writing has been published by The New York Times, The Paris Review, The New York Observer, The New Republic, NPR.org, Bookforum, The Awl, the A.V. Club, The Believer, Tablet, Vice, The Rumpus, The Forward, Impose, Miami New Times, Capital New York, the Chicago Tribune, and many other places. He’s currently at work on a book.
