Katie Roiphe joined us last fall to discuss her newest collection of essays, In Praise of Messy Lives. She read first from an essay on the depictions of sex and relationships in contemporary fiction and followed with a short essay on the backlash she received from Gawker. She embraced the contrarian and often aggressive criticism of her work and offered a series of candid and poignant responses to a vibrant discussion.
